Virtual Recovery Resources

In an infectious disease outbreak, when social distancing and self-quarantine are needed to limit and control the spread of the disease, continued social connectedness to maintain recovery are critically important. Virtual resources can and should be used during this time.

This tip sheet from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration describes resources that can be used to virtually support recovery from mental/substance use disorders. It also provides resources to help local recovery programs create virtual meetings.

  • 211 Crisis Helpline - For mental health crisis, domestic violence, suicidal thoughts, sexual assault, human trafficking and more.
  • SAMHSA - Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. 24/7 access 365 days a year. Help connect with services and resources in your area.
  • NAMI - National Alliance of Mental Illness. Support for those of any age experiencing mental health (and their caregivers).
