The new Veterans Program at First Step Recovery and Parkman Recovery, available to males and females, is tailored to provide services that meet the needs of this specific population, such as:
- Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment, including detox as well as inpatient/outpatient care
- Therapeutic interventions for mental health issues like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression
- Support with legal concerns, including direct collaboration with the court
We want our veteran clients to feel comfortable, secure and supported through the care our compassionate team provides. We understand the obstacles our veteran clients have faced—including their specific mental health and SUD needs—and we strive to instill confidence that we “have their backs.” We do this important work with the specific goal of helping our veterans get back to a healthy lifestyle independently within the community.
Veterans SUD Treatment
We recognize that each client has unique treatment needs. That’s why we provide a continuum of care to help meet our veterans wherever they might be in their recovery journey. At both Parkman Recovery (our male-only facility) and First Step Recovery (male and female), we offer detox, inpatient treatment and outpatient services to help ensure that the veterans build a strong recovery foundation to achieve sustained success.
Veterans Mental Health Treatment
Through Travco Behavioral Health, part of our “We Care More” family of locally owned and operated companies, our veteran clients receive top-notch care for mental health issues including PTSD, depression and anxiety. Our clinicians are trained in providing evidence-based treatment such as EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy and NeuroStar® TMS. Additionally, Travco can provide medication management for our veteran clients who might benefit from mental health meds to help minimize or alleviate symptoms.
Collaboration With Specialized Veterans Court
We also work in tandem with a specialized court, which is designed for veterans experiencing legal issues. The court operates with an understanding of veteran-specific concerns such as SUDs and PTSD. First Step Recovery and Parkman Recovery collaborate with the court to provide opportunities to engage in treatment (similar to how a drug court operates). Additionally, we communicate with the court, providing updates on clients’ progress and next steps.
Veterans hold a special place in our hearts, and we believe it's crucial to ensure they receive the support and care they deserve! Our Veterans Program provides a lifeline to veterans who may be struggling with the invisible wounds of war. By offering tailored SUD treatment and mental health services, we strive to help these heroes navigate their challenges with dignity and respect.
